Our Featured Speakers:

Margaret F. Zupa, MD

Dr. Margaret Zupa is a practicing endocrinologist and clinical researcher who focuses on treatment of adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and fellowship training in Endocrinology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Zupa's primary research interests are focused on the use of technology to improve the care and outcomes for people living with type 2 diabetes. She is interested in approaches to support equitable access to diabetes specialty care through use of telemedicine, engaging family members in diabetes care, and ways to leverage new tools like continuous glucose monitors to support adults living with diabetes.

Christopher E. Howard, MS, ACSM-EP

Doctoral Student, Health & Physical Activity, University of Pittsburgh

Christopher is an exercise physiologist and doctoral student in Health & Physical Activity at the University of Pittsburgh. He is the founder of C. Howard Fitness and founder and executive director of the Community Wellness Initiative of Pittsburgh. With a focus on evidence-based exercise, health promotion, and community wellness, Christopher works to translate research and education into practical strategies that help individuals and communities improve their health and quality of life.
